Villa Suono di Mare - SOUND OF SEA
by the sea, a few kilometres from Cagliari, in the south of beautiful Sardinia
An oasis of peace surrounded by the sea, nature and culture on the fabulous island of Sardinia.
You will be welcomed by Alessandra and Frank, a well-matched couple of music and beauty lovers tout court.
She Sardinian, Milanese, looking for herself in Bologna, in Trieste, on the Moon, comes from a long Austrian past (Vienna and Salzburg).
He German around Constance, Cologne, Marseille, Gubbio, Bologna and Cremona but adopted by Italy for forty years, eighteen of them now on the island.
We renovated this house imagining that it would become a place to host people who had the same desires as us.
We wanted a place that would satisfy our quest for harmony, tranquillity, beauty, taste, human warmth and attention to detail. We created it over the course of two years, here by the sea, a stone's throw from the beach of Sant'Andrea, in the province of Cagliari.

50 metres from the house, to the south, the sea begins and there is a beautiful view of the Baia degli Angeli (the protagonist of an evocative legend). It is an uncrowded, quiet beach. The bottom is made up of pebbles for the first few metres, but after a few steps the beach becomes entirely of light, impalpable sand. The sea is always extraordinary.
A few steps from home you can visit the remains of the Roman Villa (II/I BC.) and bathe in the ruins!!
To the west stretches the famous 12-kilometre-long sandy beach of Poetto, which leads to Cagliari, the island's capital city. Cagliari has a lively cultural life and in the evening it is always nice to stroll around enjoying an ice cream in the streets of the centre.
To the north rises the SETTE FRATELLI mountain range,
with an endless forest of oak trees, home to the characteristic Sardinian deer. Ideal for walking or trekking, it offers a couple of refreshment points, including an agritourism that is well known in the area (where quality and quantity happily coexist!).
To the east, one encounters the famous bays of Costa Rei, crystal-clear waters and breathtaking views.
The hinterland of the island, on the other hand, surprises with the treasures of the ancient Nuragic culture.
GIGANTS, fairy houses, tombs, dolmens, sacred wells and nuraghi take us back in time to 4000 BC.
Nora, Chia and Teulada, the southernmost tip of Sardinia, are a one-hour drive away. Getting around the island is always a journey within a journey because of the beauty of the places you pass through, the landscapes and the roads.
Carlo Forte, the island on the island, is a fascinating place and can be reached by boat in two and a half hours.
The archaeological sites are breathtakingly beautiful. Here is a glimpse of that of Nora, a prosperous city, first Phoenician, then Carthaginian, and finally an important Roman centre, a jewel handed down to us through three millennia.

And here we are at the villa...
The holiday house consists of four double bedrooms (two beds can be added in the comfortable sofa in one of the living rooms) 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 living/dining rooms, if you rent the whole house.
If you are just a small group or family, you can also rent only part of the house: in this case you will still have the entire second floor with four double bedrooms and a bathroom and the large living room with kitchen and sofa bed. In this case, too, you will have your own entrance.
The house is surrounded by a garden full of exotic plants and porches. There is seating everywhere, so you can choose between sun and shade, warm and cool, depending on your needs and the time of year.
The house is situated at the end of a gravel road that leads directly to the beach and is used as an access road by the 9 families living here only. You can therefore imagine that there are no disturbances or traffic problems whatsoever.
in the garden, in addition to hammocks and a swing for two, you will find our new super swing! We made it ourselves this autumn, choosing and sewing the fabrics and building the structure... in short, another work made with love :)

In this kitchen, in autumn, with fruits from the garden (oranges, lemons, peaches, apricots, mirth, figs, pears, pomegranates and medlars) we make our jams!!!
The inner living room houses a second sofa, an office area and another large area that can be used for lunch or a ‘work’ table.
Life here is very quiet, the inhabitants are locals (with the exception of one Swedish and one German family), you integrate quickly, we have always nurtured good neighbourly relations. Children who know how to swim have nothing to fear (but the water is so shallow that even small children are free to enjoy it), they are free and have immediate contact with the people on this street, all of whom are open to welcoming us with generosity.
On request we serve breakfast, lunch or dinner also based on Sardinian cuisine (Alessandra only cooks with love) and with a bit of advance notice we can organise sailing trips (Frank is also a skipper!).
